Spider Webs

There was a nice sized spider web on the corner of my parents deck and I had to borrow my moms camera beacause I've always wanted to get a picture of a spider web being outlined by the sun. (And becauseI think a spiders web is a wonderful pnenomena of nature). It was harder than I thought to capture though. I got a bunch of sun spots, which I really need to learn about how to avoid. Then my neighbor (who was there at the time) suggested that I should spray some water on the web to get the dew drop look. (It was too windy though, and the water dried up pretty fast). As I was spraying, the spider that owned the web came out in her attack stance and then scurried back into her hole. My camera was hanging from my neck as I was holding the spray bottle, and so I totally missed the shot! I just got her as she was going back to her hole. (In one of the photos you can see her but she's blurry because she was moving so fast). Connie (my neighbor) helped spray the water as I held my camera close, waiting for the spider to spring out again, but I think the web ended up too wet, and she stayed in her safe, dry corner. One day I will get my award winning web shot!
